The Land Development Code helps to shape the City of Bangor.

The Land Development Code is a crucial document that governs the use of land and the placement, size, and design of structures within the City of Bangor. In addition to these fundamental aspects, it also regulates various other important elements of development, such as parking requirements, landscaping standards, and the specifications for accessory structures. The process of updating the Code will ensure that these regulations are thoughtfully tailored to reflect the unique character of each area within the City. Furthermore, it will ensure that the regulations are aligned with the broader land use and development goals outlined in the Comprehensive Plan, promoting cohesive growth and sustainability throughout the community.

Work on the Land Development Code will happen in three phases:

Throughout each phase of the project, there will be multiple opportunities to get involved, learn more, and let us know what you think. Please consider signing up for updates so you’ll be notified of upcoming engagement opportunities, public meetings, and releases of important project materials. We’re excited to work with the Bangor community on this important project!
